Legal Question in Traffic Law in Florida

A FORMER friend of mine was in an auto accident while driving with a suspended license. When the police arrived she told them that I had been driving her car and left the scene of the accident. This is untrue, I was not driving, not involved in the accident, & was not driving any car at that time as my car had been stolen and license had expired. This incident took place in sept. '08, I only recently found out about this when I was arrested for these charges- lsoa w/out giving info, driving on a suspended license, failure to appear in court, and a cpl of other unpaid traffic fines related to tint on her auto's windows. Because, of course, I had no knowledge of any of this incident etc. I figured it out after speaking w/her brother in-law. But, now have a court date in two days and don't know what/how to prove I was not involved in any of this. Please!! I desperately need help/advice/assistance with this asap!! Thanking you, in advance, for your valued assistance. Most Sincerely, Victoria

Your case may ultimately get dismissed. However, you're not going to be able to do it alone. You said you need assistance, so you should talk to an attorney immediately. Your attorney will know what kind of motion to file and be able to speak with the prosecutor assigned to your case. You are facing jail time, so do not hesitate in getting an attorney now.

I can only advise that you need to retain an attorney right away. An attorney will be able to help you beat the charges.
