Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida

I attempted to execute my home deed into my Florida living trust. The Hillsborough County recorder reviewed it and prepared a confirmation document that they gave me. I thought they would file my new deed that was intended to give the house to my trust and return the recorded copy back to me. Was this approach legal? This is not the procedure in many other states.

Yes. If you requested, it should be returned to you after it is recorded.

I agree with Mr. Slater's answer but more concerning is whether this property is homesteaded? If you put it into your Living Trust improperly you could jeopardize losing homestead status. I recommend that you consult with an estate planning attorney in Hillsborough County to review what was done.
