Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida

Atty sent letter saying no longer practicing law due to illness

I am involved in ligitation regarding contesting of a will.

I am the defendant. The plaintiff's attorney sent a letter saying he no longer was a practicing attorney due to illness and said his daughter was going to handle the case.

Also this case has been ongoing for over 2 yrs, and this was another reason for a postponement, there have been many.

At a deposition requested by the plaintiff, that attorney handled the deposition, daughter was not present. I wanted my attorney to object, but he did not. Should he have objected?
