Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida

My ex-wife and mother of my two minor children passed away about two months ago. We had shared custody of the children and she resided in an apartment with the two children prior to her death. Her mother immediately after her death cleaned out her apartment and kept all of the items in the apartment. It was my understanding that all of her belongings as well as cars that she owned belonged to the children once she passed. The mother of my ex-wife also agreed to re-pay the funeral expenses (or a portion) that I paid. She did not do so! Is there a course of action that I can take on behalf of my children to recover the items that were removed from the apartment, as well as monies for the funeral bill?

Sorry to hear about your lose. Funeral expenses that are paid shall come out of your ex-wife's estate. I would recommend contacting a local attorney as soon as possible. I practice in both MA and FL, but will not be in Florida to assist you.
