Father just die! just would like to know if me and my sister can get anything if wife name is on the polies

If wife's name is on the policies, they pass via contract not probate. So, nope they go directly to wife.

I would agree with Mr Harmon's resonse above. I'm not sure you could determine if there had been a change of beneficiary form filed with the insurance carrier, but the law as to insurance in many states require the change of beneficiary to be executed properly, be an original signature, and only takes effect once the change form is received by the insurance carrier, not when it is put in the mail - good luck.

This sounds to me this is a second wife and not your mother. You are entitled to one-half of hte homestead property if this is the case. You might speak to a probate attorney as to your rights.
