You should call SS office and advise them of your grandmother's demise. If you mother will not give you the will, do you know who prepared it. You can file a probate for your grandmother as apply for the personal representative. You will have to serve your mom so she can have an opportunity to dispute it. You can be reimbursed from the estate if you are elected the personal representative and she can be made to show the will and provide information as to the assets in the estate.
