Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida

My husband died Nov. 12, 2009 leaving me his BMW that is not fully paid yet and is still under his name. I expressed my intention to BMW financial services to continue on paying the car until its fully paid, but they told me that it will not be transferred under my name even if I pay in full, and instead considered as stolen too.

If title is in your husband's name, it should become yours after probate of the estate. If BMW still has title, you will have to try to make some arrangement with them.

I agree with Mr. Slater. If the BMW dealership still has the title, when the car is paid off they have to give the title to you. At that point you can have the title transferred to your name by forwarding to the DMV the death certificate and letters of administration adn the title will be put in your name.
