Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida

My husband had a trust fund of a little over $30,000. His father and stepmother got a divorce, the trust fund was not a part of the divorce settlement but his stepmother still cashed it out for her personal use. I know it was morally wrong for her to take the money, do we have any legal grounds to sue her? What is the statute of limitations on such a case? How should be go about settling this mater?

Your question can't really be properly answered with the limited details provided. If the money was in a trust, how did stepmother get access to the money? Was she the trustee? It would help to have more information and to make a review of the trust document.
