Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida

legal will(s)

We had our wills made out in West Virginia and we now live in Florida. Are our wills valid/legal in Florida?

Without seeing the will I could not tell you. Wills are so inexpensive that you should probably have new ones made that comply with Florida law.

If your will was prepared in accordance with WV law, it is likely legal in Florida. However, a Florida will should have a self-proving affidavit attached. If it does not, it may be necessary to "prove" the will, meaning being required to locate the witnesses to the will. Also, it is beneficial to review a will periodically to make certain it accords with your wishes.
