Legal Question in Workers Comp in Florida

What services can I ask for

I have a broken foot that occured on my lunch hour, but on company property. WC has been paying the medical bills and providing transportation to and from work and DR's. However there are somethings that are piling up at home because my husband can't do everything, nor do I think he should be expected to. Am I entitled to any of the following: cleaning service, transportation to the store, or help with my toddler when my husband is not available? It is my right foot, so I can not drive, hence the need for transportation.

I enjoy the company I work for and would not sue, but would like to know if there are services I am entitled to that are not offered, but only extended if I request them.

Re: What services can I ask for

WC would not be respon. for paying for cleaning, toddler care, etc. They only have an obligation to pay you benefits when you are unable to earn the same income before you reach max. med. improvement plus medicals, trans., It would not appear that you would be entitled to attendant care since you have r/t to wrk.

You should consult an atty. to discuss your rights and statute of limitations.

The only thing I would add to the previous response that you may be able to obtain some attendant care for activities of daily living if they are prescribed by your authorized, treating physician. However, only in very rare situations have I seen a Judge award attendant care for household services, such as cleaning and shopping, etc., and those would involve quadrapalegics or someone who is bedridden for a lengthy period of time and living alone.
