Legal Question in Business Law in Georgia

Im interested in starting an online lifestyle based magazine in Georgia. My plan is to use freelance writers to complete stories on travel, life, style etc. for Georgia. I'm curious to know what legal issues i need to be aware of to begin the business (licensing, copyright, any other ares of interest). Thanks in advance

You need to see your lawyer to discuss any possible issues. Your question is beyond the scope of an internet forum for simple legal questions and answers.

There are some very complex issues that will require an attorney, review of details plans, and drafting of documents.

You'll need contracts with your writers, proper agreements with your webhost, decisions as to whose name copyrights are in, etc. You also have to address business licenses, the form of the business (corporation, LLC, etc), taxes and many other issues.

A CPA is also needed.

These issues are far beyond anything someone can do online.

There are more than can be described in this forum. However, based on your short facts, you need to properly incorporate, have solid contracts with your contractors (writers) and otherwise have good agreements in place.

As a Franchise Attorney I agree with the other attorney answers. Copyright, infringement, and indemnification are just three of many issues that need to be addressed. Consult with a good business or franchise attorney in your area for specific advice.
