Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Georgia

Car Debt

I am behind on a car loan. They have been contacting family and friends to get in touch with me. They called my Godfather and discussed my account with him such as how much I owe, when was the last time I paid and the last conversation I had with them. My Godfather called me and left a message on my cell phone with the representative from the car place discussing these details. I never gave them written permission to speak to him about my account. Isn't this violation of FDCPA and who would I contact for a law suit.

Re: Car Debt

You do not say who "they" is, nd we can't guess. The FDCPA applies to collection agencies, not the actual creditor. It is often best to focus on getting your loan caught up, and not facing these issues.
