Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Georgia

My checking account is going to be seized do to nonpayment of credit card debt. My name is also on an account for another person can that account also be seized ? It is not my money it is S.S.I. for a person .

It's probably fair game. Do what you should have done before losing the suit that led to the garnishment and see a lawyer.

Additionally, make sure that the person on SSI opens up his own account and doesn't put money in the joint account.
