Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Georgia

I received a letter in the mail today saying that my car is in recovery. It stated that if I did not turn it over within 10 days that they would issue a warrant for me. I have been laid off for over a year now and my unemployment checks did not come for a couple of weeks. I've paid about 10,000 on my vehicle and owe about that still. If i can get the money to catch up my payments will i beable to keep my car. It might take me a month to get the money and i was going to keep the car in my garage untill i got the money

See a lawyer TODAY. Not tomorrow. Today.

Unless you have omitted facts the threats in the letter may be illegal and give you rights to sue the creditor. Regardless, the consequences of a reposession will linger with you for years.

Additionally, you may be able to file bankruptcy and either keep the car, delay the return of the car, or at least avoid owing them any more for it, depending on the numbers.

Do not delay and do not make any decisions without seeing a lawyer. Do it immediately. You have a legal emergency that will worsen with inaction.
