Not enough details are in your post. Many questions are left unanswered. Was there a written contract for storage? How much were the storage fees? Was the car equal in value to the fees? If the car was truly given in payment, was the car title actually signed over? When did this happen? When did they request the car back? Are they willing to make some other arrangement to pay the storage fees? Why does the person now want his car back? What is really going on that you are not divulging? Or did storage have nothing to do with this and it was a gift? Was the gift, if it was a gift, completed?

My suggestion is that you go and pay a lawyer for a 30 minute consult about your situation and let the lawyer review any paperwork or documentation that you have. You will need to see a general civil practice lawyer, preferably one who does consumer law (if this is consumer oriented) or business collections if you are owed the money and operate a storage facility.

Otherwise you can try re-posting your question with more details if you would like more specific advice.
