Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Georgia

I wanted to see if my ex-fiance would be liable for 1/2 of my engagement ring. He didn't have the money to buy my engagement ring so we BOTH agree to pay for the ring together. The ring itself is in his name but the credit card is in my name. We were only engaged for 2 months. I was thinking about taking him to small claims court to recoup 1/2 of the ring that WE agreed to pay for. Do I have a legitimate case?

What a loser! I can't believe the ex-fiance would make you pay for your engagement ring. Well, since you are paying for it then you get to keep it.

You will not recoup your half of the ring - otherwise he gets to keep the ring. However, you have no agreements with ex-fiance that he was to pay for the WHOLE ring. The agreement, as per your post, is that you are jointly going to pay. So no, you cannot recoup half.

As between you and the credit card company you are liable for it.

Keep the ring, pay for your half and be very very glad you did not marry the jerk.
