Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia

My sister right now is going through a lot being that she is addicted to meth. She currently lives with my Mom. Life is getting hard for my Mom because she is the one with custody of my sister's child. My sister flipped out on one of her mood swings and she said she was going to burn the house down and everything in it and punched a hole in the wall, if my Mom asks her to leave again. My mom waited 2 days for Christmas to be over and now she has called the cops and they are telling her that they can't do anything since she didn't call the day of. Is this true?? I thought statute of limitations say 6 years for felonies.

The police are not going to arrest anyone for domestic violence based on a call made two days later, and any statute of limitations has absolutely nothing to do with it. Your mom can go to the police station to ask about making a complaint, or to the local court clerk to see about a domestic protective order.
