Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia

My wife received a threat via email at her job from one of her Veteran Affairs students. The student said 2 to 3 days ago I was thinking of slaying you. What should we do?

I presume she already called the police and swore out an arrest warrant and the student is now in jail (if she didn't she should do that this morning).
