Consequences for DUI and CDL drivers
What is the sentence for a DUI. If the person who gets a DUI has a CDL liscence and drives a truck and this is the main source of income does the court ususally let the person drive to work and does the court let this person drive on the job since this is the main source of income?

Penalties for Georgia DUI can be found at www.duiguy.com/law.htm. A judge cannot grant any driving permit, limited or otherwise. Only the Georgia Department of Public Safety can grant a limited permit or reinstate your full driving privileges. For a first offense within a five year period, you can get a limited permit for 120 days and have full privilges restored on the 121st day after conviction. However, even after your privileges are restored, your company's insurance carrier will probably exclude you from coverage, effectively keeping you from driving a commercial vehicle.
