Legal Question in DUI Law in Georgia

What are the possible legal implications of driving while taking a prescribed med that is labeled "do not drive when taking this medication." I know someone who is addicted to prescribed pain meds and drives with her children in the car and I was just wondering. I know no one will take action unless/until she she is in an accident, but I fear for the children.

The driver could be charge and convicted of DUI, lose her license for a year, and spend up to a year in jail and be fined $1000. If she kills someone she could spend far longer in prison.
