Professional name change

I am signed to a label that has a label deal with a major label which includes myself as the artist. Is it legal for me to change my Professional name and start a new project with my cuurent label due to dissatisfaction with the major label?

Its hard to answer this question without knowing the terms of the label deal you are bound by and the terms of the deal that your label is bound by with the major label. The legality of what you want to do is not the issue. Its whether you or your current label would be in breach of contract for recording under another stage name.
