Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

I have a 6 month old child born out of wed lock and the mother broke ties before the birth. At which time she did not inform me that she was going into labor and then only 16 hours after the birth was I informed of the delivery. I can only assume this was her was of avoiding me being able to sign the birth certificate or to be recognized as the childs father. Since then she has avoided all conversations about custody, visitation and paternity etc. and since the child was conceived in Georgia, birthed in Tennessee and now she has moved nim to Alabama while I still reside in Georgia I'm not sure what legal steps to take on this matter because the steps involved for the state GA. differ from those of other states. She is now in a relationship with another woman who is a former drug/alcohol addict and I am not only concerned with his current environment I am also concerned that she will have a legal right to keep me out of his life. I am a single father of one, own my home and have no arrest record, legal issues or any history of violence or drug abuse and I want and have been trying to establish a steady, consistant relationship with my second son and I need to know what steps to take to establish paternity from state to state and to recieve custody as soon as possibly. Any info will be helpful.

If she has been out of Georgia for less than 6 months and the child was born in Georgia, you can file to legitimize here (call a Georgia lawyer).

If the child was born in another state or has been out of the state over six months, you will need a lawyer in that state.
