Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

adoption in future?

I was just wondering how hard it would be for a man in my future to adopt my son, and what he may have to do?I had the baby out of wedlock and his father didn't sign the birth certificate or get legally recognized as the baby's father. so what would someone have to do to adopt my son, and how hard would it be? would the baby's biological father have to be recognized first and or present at the adoption?

Re: adoption in future?

First you have to be married. An adoption would require either the consent of the bio-dad or a court terminating his rights (the first of the two is easier). It will simplify things if bio-dad registers with the State Putative Father's Registry now.
