Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

I am trying to file for a divorce. I am a new resident to the state that I live in and GA requires you be a resident for a minimum of 6 months in order to file. In researching the issue I found that if you have not been a resident for 6 months that you should file in the state in which the other party lives but, he also is a new resident to the state in which he lives (RI) and has not been a resident long enough either. I would like to know how we would go about getting this divorce or do we have to wait until the required time has been established.

You have to meet a residency requirement to file. Since you're here, more likely than not filing here will be far simpler than elsewhere. Call me with details when you are close to the six months and I can give you more information.
