Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Kicked out, restraining order against boyfriend, and pregnant. Help

Okay, I'm 17 years old and I recently found out that I was pregnant by my 19 year old boyfriend. The first problem is that my mom is trying to force me to get an abortion, can she do that? Furthermore, she says that if I don't get an abortion she will kick me out. Could she press any charges against my boyfriend, his family, or myself if she kicked me out and I decided to go stay with him? My final question is if my mother can get a restraining order against my boyfriend, my baby's father, with no obvious reasons except her being spiteful? Thank you for your time; I really need help!

No, your mother can not force you to get an abortion. This is a difficult time in your life and having a child at your age is going to be hard, especially without a place to live. You are right, abortion is not the answer. Your mother can not have your boyfriend charged criminally since you are over the age of sexual consent. Your mother can not get a restraining order either, unless the child's father is a nuisance or breaking the law. She can order him off her property and have him charged with criminal trespass if he returns.

You have a lot of life issues you need to address and I hope that you and your mother can work this out. You are going to find you need your family now more than ever.
