Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Proof Of Income

Our divorce decree (modification of) states that we are to provide the "defendant" prrof of income by April 1st of each year. We have sent her my husband's W-2's. She states we are to send the actual Tax Return. My husband and I file joint and do not feel the need to disclose my income. She is threatening a contempt charge. We have done our part according to the decree. Is she correct? or are the W-2's enough ?

Proof of income

Sending the defendant's W-2 forms should suffice to avoid a contempt charge. However, you should be aware that recent case las in NC allows a party to move for the court to divert from the guideline amount of child support if the payor has remarried, and the payor's spouse has a substantial income.
