Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Georgia

Small Claims Levy Question

I recently lost a case and I was currently laid off so I am unable to pay the judgement until I regain employment.

My question is about levying, I am staying with my parents for a couple of weeks, but I have my personal items in storage, I don;t have much.. bed, clothes, tv, washer/dryer and that's it. No car, no real estate, no boats, etc.

What can be levied? My parents stuff can't be levied because I am stayin with them can it? When the Sheriff does a levy, does he levy everything or can he only levy specific items?

Re: Small Claims Levy Question

ANYTHING you own can be levied upon. However, it is rare to have someone go after small personal items unless the creditor simply doesn't like you. If the judgment is large, see a lawyer to discuss your options at this time.
