Legal Question in Immigration Law in Georgia

green card renewal & filing for us citizenship

My husband has got his 2years of Green Card after marrying to me ( US Citizen) in 2007. His green Card will be expiring in July 2009.

My Question: When we will be seninding his green card renewal application or adjusting his staus application is it possible we can even file for his US citizenship together.

Greaan Card Renewal & Applying for US Citizenship can be filed together or not.

If not how does it works? How much time it takes to do both filing.

Thanks

Misha

Re: green card renewal & filing for us citizenship

Misha,

You will need to file the I-751 to remove the conditions on his status. You can do so in April (90 days before the expiration date of the temporary card). I suggest that you plan to do so as soon as you are allowed to do so. In April of 2010 he will be able to file for citizenship (even if the immigration service has not adjudicated the I-751 petition). If you have further questions please email my office directly.
