If i get married and i am not a legal resident of the U.S but my wife is, how long would it take for me to get legal status if we got married this past December?

You need to provide more information: what do you mean you are not a legal resident - what is your immigrant status? how and when did you come to USA? what is your wife's immigrant status: a US citizen, a permanent resident, etc?
