I am a senior citizen artist and would like to sell my paintings that I painted from internet paintings is this illegal?

It sounds like you have copied other people's paintings. That would violate copyright law.

You can be made to pay enormous civil damages for each violation, and also can in some cases go to jail.

If you are criminally charged, you face a possible maximum penalty of up to five years in prison and up to a $250,000 monetary fine for EACH painting.

If you are sued in civil court, the court can seize all your profits, enjoin you from continuing, and fine you not less than $750 or more than $30,000 per each work. If the court feels you acted wilfully, they may increase the award of statutory damages to a sum of not more than $150,000 per each act.
