Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Georgia

Trademark rights for stickers of sports teams

I am thinking about making an item that I can sell at games for a couple of bucks. I want to buy a sticker that has the team that is playing logo on it or name on it, like the block ''O'' for Ohio State. I want to put that sticker on my product and sell it. What is the legal infringement on trademark rights, if any? And lets say that the company I buy the stickers from has the rights to sell the stickers with the logos on it. Or do I need to obtain the rights from the teams to put the sticker on my product to sell?

Re: Trademark rights for stickers of sports teams

Most likely, you will need the permission of the original license holder. It would be highly unusual for a licensee to be able to legally transfer the license to a third-party.
