Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Georgia

Security Deposits and Lease Contract

My son a college student and 3 friends signed a one year lease renewal approximately 30 days ago. The owner toured the property and said boys will be boys. Now the owner after renewing the lease without amendments is requesting an additional deposit of $200. per month. No additional deposit requiremnt was contained in recently signed lease. Please advise direction.

Re: Security Deposits and Lease Contract

If the lease requires no additional deposit or allows it to be obtained by the landlord, then they should not have to pay it. Of course, some lease can be tricky regarding whether such additional deposits can be required.
