Legal Question in Personal Injury in Georgia

Teacher pushes my head son into a wall and cause a knot and bruise

My son came home with a knot on his forhead and bruise on top of the knot. Said teacher pushed his head into the time out wall. Went to the school and had a meeting with the principal and teacher. The teacher admitted that she took both of her hands and put his head against the wall. She stated that she didn't believe that she did it hard enough to cause a bruise but also stated that she didn't pay attention to his head afterwards. She sat she did it because he is hard headed and she gets frustrated with him. Now first of all, she has no business with her hands on him period. Second of all,if I send my child to school with a bruise on his head, authorities will be called on me. So what gives her the right to put a bruise on my son and think it's okay and justified because he's not paying attention in class or whatever the case. The principal says she's letting the school detectives handle the investigation since she was not present. I've also filed a complaint with the board of education. My son is five years old. I would like to know what can be done.

I am not undestanding why you did not immediately make a police report (without one, there's no backup to your version, and it's easier for the school not to follow up). It may be appropriate to seek a warrant for the teacher's arrest for battery or child abuse after making the police report. Since it is important that the officer see the bruise soon after it happens, this should have been done the moment the child came home.
