Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia

Error on HUD-1

I closed on my refinance mortgage over 3 months ago. The settlement agent called me today and said that the broker who brokered my loan is bugging them because they have not receive there fees. The attorney is indicating that I may have to pay additional fees due to errors in the settlement statement. And by the way, there was an addendum to the HUD-1 which appears to be a disclaimer for the attorney in case there are errors on the HUD-1. Who's liable for errors on the settlement statement? I'll be glad to send a copy of the addendum to the HUD-1 for review.

Re: Error on HUD-1

It depends on the errors and the facts surrounding the Closing. There may be a Truth-In-Lending violation. You probably are best to contact an attorney and provide more information, as well as, allowing the attorney to review the documents. Sometimes when I review the documents, I find violations that the potential clients are not aware of when they review those same documents.
