Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia

land law

My mother-in-law deeded over her property before she passed away. She divided it between her kids. After her original will was drawn up, there was apparently a codicil attached saying the land could not be left or deeded to heirs-at-law. What does this mean? She also had a road created to give one child access to her property. Another child is now denying access to the property because he owns the property on both sides of the road. It is NOT a county road, it was just intended to be an easement for her, but she is now being refused the right to run electricity on it.

Re: land law

Without reading the will and the codicil, it is impossible to say what it means or what effect it might have.

You should consult a local real estate attorney regarding the right of access.
