Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia

If a person had not paid mortgage payments since 2003 and the mortgage is not paid in full and no foreclosure has taken place; what could be done in order to get the deed on the property. Also the mortgage company that held the title/deed had been sold twice and we do not know who hold the title/deed on the property.

You get rid of the lien by paying off the mortgage. It is not hard to find out who the mortgage company is, by looking at the recorded records and following up with the companies you find.
