Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia

Who is responsible to pay for property line tree removal? We have a flower bed that is split by the property line with two trees in it. One tree is clearly on our side. The other tree is next to the line on the neighbors side with ~2inches of the trunk crossing onto our side (This tree recently had limbs fall from the top which were dead...remainer of tree appears healthly). We have given the neighbor permission to remove property line tree if they wish. Are we resopnsible for any of the cost?

What are the costs? You merely said the neighbor could cut the (apparently healthy) tree down if they wish. If they want to cut it down, they may pay for it. If you want it down and they agree, maybe they ask you to pay for part of it. If no one wants to pay, it probably stays. These issues are best resolved by agreement - not taking sides on who has a legal obligation.
