Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia

I signed the lease for a home on 12/11/2009. I am unable to turn the lights on in the house becasue their is a past due balance on the account. Apparantely the lights for the house was turned on without the utility company's permission after the old tennats moved out. My landlord wants me to pay the old balance. I refuse to do it. Can I terminate my rental agreement?

Since none of us have read the lease we really can't say (you possibly can depending on facts we do not have). This is a case where a good letter from an attorney may save you money later. Go see an attorney immediately. The letter won't cost much.
