Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Georgia

Cashing a life insurance check

I am executor of my father's will. The will has not gone to probate court yet. I have since learned that he had made me his beneficary for two life insurance policies. These checks are in my pocession, made out to me, but I don't know if I can cash them, until the will is probated.

He resided in Georgia.

Based on what you have said, if you are the sole beneficiary of those policies go ahead and cash them, they are yours and are considered non-probate assets.
