Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Georgia

Power of Attorney

My mother would like to change her current power of attorney from one daughter to another daughter. How do we go about doing this? Is there a termination of power of attorney form or do we download new power of attorney forms from the web and start all over? Thank you

Re: Power of Attorney

First of all, it's a dangerous idea to download forms. Second of all, if your current forms are properly drafted (and if you downloaded them they apparently are not based upon your question), they would contain a provision that spelled out how to give notice of revocation (the way I do it is to record a revocation with the county). Let a lawyer see what you have now and then draft the new one. Odds are this will cost all of about $100 and that is better than getting it wrong. If you're near us, feel free to call me.
