worker's compensation check

My father committed suicide as a

result of an injury and wanted his

family to start over with the

insurance money. They made a

check out to him and my sister and I

made my mother the soul beneficiary

and executor of his estate. What

does my mother have to do to

receive the money?

Since you leave out many important details, a visit to a qualified estate lawyer is the first step. You do not explain how you somehow got legal authority to "make" anyone the sole beeficiary and executor of another person's estate. Benefciaries are determined by law, or a will -- not what a third party wants. You also fail to state the particulars about the beneficiaries of the insurance proceeds. If the estate is entitled to the money, what other debts need to be paid? Given these, and many more questions, we can't direct you as to what your mothe has to do to get money.
