Legal Question in Criminal Law in Guam

Increase on settlement

I have a settled agreement with a person to pay her $500.00. The settlement is to pay her what she has lost in a wallet that was left at my place of business. It is also to replace gas from picking up/receiving the money from me and other personal items that were in the wallet. Is it possible for her to raise the amount to $2000.00? She said if I did not agree she would take me to court and arrested. I have documents that state the the agreement was $500.00 and signed docunments of payment. She had initially brought this to the police and an officer was present when the agreed settlement amount was reached.

Re: Increase on settlement

Properly signed written agreements based upon value to each signer are enforceable in court. One person may not unilaterally change the terms of a valid contract or agreement.
