Legal Question in Technology Law in Hawaii

Using Company Logos on Web Site for Links

Can I use a company's logo in my customers web site as a link to their web site? The links would be for the viewers benefit and the page it links to. The links will not be used for the purpose of financial gain.I have contacted some companies for permission they said yes, but some have not returned the message. I will be including a disclaimer in the site stating that my customer is not affiliated with these other companies in any way.

Re: Using Company Logos on Web Site for Links

You are probably safe provided that you do not divert any business from the entities to whom you link and provided the links go to the entities whose logos you use. Be sure to use something like "Links to Other Sites" or something similar to be more certain that, despite your disclaimer, no one can claim successfully that you deliberately caused them to be confused into thinking the linked are sponsoring you or associated with you.
