Legal Question in Workers Comp in Hawaii

permanent partial disability

Is 18% for partial permanent disability fair and with this status what other type of help can I receive inspite of my present status, for example vocational training, disability help, any type of scholarship available, etc.? Thank you very much for your help in this matter.

Re: permanent partial disability

My response follows somewhat that of my colleague. Whether the 18% is fair depends on several considerations. Was the rating a product of a physical capacity evaluation? Was it given by your doctor? Further, even if fair, the issue may be whether your limitations as a practical matter impair your ability to be gainfully employed? Have you returned to work? Are you at full duty? Are there physician assigned job restrictions? Has your employer accomodated these restrictions?

You may call my office or e-mail me with additional information or arrange for a no obligation consultation.

I need additional info to give you an answer. For example, what was your rating? Who performed the rating? What was your occupation before you were injured? Please email me at [email protected] or call me at 526-4000. ext. 206. TJ Lane
