Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Illinois

I filed bankruptcy about 3 weeks ago to relieve this debt I have been going to court over for a year now. The judge told me at my last hearing that if I had bankruptcy filed before my next hearing I wouldnt have to show up, and I did have it filed a couple weeks before. Now they put out a warrant for me missing court. The cop told my sister I need to pay $400 to avoid being arrested. Can my bankruptcy lawyer take care of this matter or should I pay the $400? I dont know what to do.

Based on the information, yes, your BR lawyer, your state court lawyer, or yourself, should be able to inform the state court that you filed a BR petition consistent with information from the judge. Problem likely resulted because the state court is not aware of BR filings unless you file information or notify the court. You should be able to avoid the penalty.
