Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Illinois

FIred from job and don't know why.

I was fired from my job as a church secretary. When I asked the reason for my termination I was told by the pastor that federal regulations don't require him to tell me. Is this acurate?I don't remember signing any contract that would state no reason be given for termination.

He is correct in substance (although his reference to federal regulations is meaningless). In Illinois, an employer is not required to advise you why you are being fired.
