Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Illinois

Moved into a house October of 2009 with a signed lease. On 6/21/2010 found out that the house was in foreclosure proceedings even before I moved in. My question is does that Lease obligate me to continue to pay the landlord rent. Or can I use it to move and pay it somewhere else. The landlord just told me tha he will be going to Europe on vacation and wants the rent earlier. Are these signs I should be looking out for? Or do I continue to pay rent on a house that is being foreclosed without my knowledge.

thank you,

Emily

The foreclosure has no relation to your lease. Provided you have not been removed from the property, you are required to abide by the terms of the lease agreement you signed.
