Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois

My mother received a summons for small claims on December 13th to appear on December 20th...the rule in illinois is not less than 14 days or more than 40 days from service. She was scared and appeared anyway, is there any recourse for this? she has 30 days to file for a trial date (from the 20th)

thank you

Actually for small claims, the summons must be served not less than three days prior to the initial appearance.
