Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois

I accidentally left my baby in my car I go to court for child endangerment in Dec. I have never had problems with the law before & this will be my first indicated case from DCFS. DCFs already took me off supervision of my children ( this child lives with her dad). My divorce lawyer doesn't want me to plead guilty because my ex can hold it against me, but I have 3 children who live with me I am the one who cares for them.. I can't go to jail. I was charged with a . is it better to go to trail because it was an accident or should I plead guilty & get a plea bargain from the state?
note: baby's seat was behind mine where I couldn't see it because it was rear facing, he fell asleep.. the day before that my routine was changed I didn't realize he was in the car. I am taking parenting classes & seeing counselor now.
