Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois

I am attaching a letter I have sent to the Illinois Dept of Public Health. I need to know if you think Our family hDear Mr. Bell,

My name is Leanne and I am emailing you regarding an attempted sexual assault on my 98 year old grandmother Wednesday night

February 9th. My grandmother was asleep when she was shaken by a man who told her to get up. She sat up when he pulled her up and pressed up against

her and tried to assault her. When she yelled for help he threw her to the floor she was found naked where she received pretty good scrapes and bruises.

Two nurses at the time ran into her room as the man was still standing there. They called security they questioned him and let him go back to his room for the

night and left my grandmother in the room for the night to!!! What if he came back to kill her because she saw him???!!!!! They Waterford Assisted living did not notify the police or any family members until the next morning. The manager of the facility said she was not notified of the assault until the next day.

Come to find out that that was not true! The head of security told my aunt that she WAS made aware of the assault that same night!! My mother and my aunt went there on that thursday morning and the manager told my mom that the man was going to leave. The predetor told the nurse that morning that he did

not feel good so they called an ambulance and took him to another hospital. Supposedly the officer that was there with my mom that morning talked to the man

and that was it. Did not arrest him!! Just let him go to another facility.

I am now finding out that the person my grandmother and mom thought was a police officer was someone that worked for Waterford!! She took a statement and gave it to a REAL INVESTIGATOR and the investigator told my aunt just yesterday that they gave a completely different story. My grandmother is not senile!! She told the story four different times and told it the same way each time!!! She knows exactly what happened. She actually said "THANK GOD THIS DIDN'T HAPPEN TO SOME OTHER POOR SOUL"!!

I also want to tell you that the residents there had to keep there doors unlocked at night because the nursing staff did not have keys to get into the patient rooms. My mom was told by the manager that they just gave keys to the nurses the previous week but AGAIN did not notify the family of that!!!!!!

I am pleading with you to please send someone to investigate this facility and what happened to my grandmother. They are also to blame for my grandmothers broken hip the week of christmas.

We put a little table outside of her door to put any kind of mail, papers etc... because her knees are basically gone and she tends to fall. What do they do? They put a flier under the door and she went to pick it up and fell only to break her hip!!!! These people are elderly people they have NO BUSINESS putting things under the door!!

One more thing the man that assaulted my grandmother is not a patient he is just someone who lives there!! I sure hope he is not doing this to some other poor soul in the hospital that he's supposedly in now!!!

PLEASE!! have someone investigate this matter! Please feel free to email me with any questions you may have.

Sincerely,

Leanne

P.S We just found out that no one, the police the illinois dept of public health has not questioned the head of security. She has the file locked up because the manager wants it. There are things in that report that we are finding out is very crucial to the case. Things we didn't even know. There is also a videotape of the man running naked from the waist down and the facility has not given us any information or any copies of the incident report that we have requested!
